PAULO DUARTE (MECANIkA) [FRANCE]
Shadow projection workshop
may 21st and may 22nd
Age Rating: M/14
Sessions for Secondary school pupils
Duration: 4 hours/day
The different stages of MECANIkA’s creative workshop cover various forms of expression. By night, and by day, projections and imagination come to life. Characters appear as if in dreams, while poetic stories are told.
During the activities, the participants create characters in separate parts, each group contributing part of the whole. The drawings are transformed into surrealist assemblages, ready to be manipulated, either as rod puppets or in shadow play.
Using the appropriate lighting, the end result of the creative journey is revealed through group improvisation.
