Created during the pandemic and to continue bringing its theatre works to the public, ARAWAKE developed an innovative, universal, inclusive and safe stage device.
A scaled-down theatre that enables performances for a small audience using headsets, tubes and mirrors.
The device allows the different types of puppets (rod, string, glove…) to interact on stage with a hologram and, at the same time, with the actor/manipulator working inside the device.
Director and dramatist Jorge da Rocha
Lighting, sound and multimedia Alberto Olegario González / SENSEI MULTIMEDIA
Puppet making Félix Muñiz / MERCUCHO PRODUCCIONES
Construction of the theatrical device Gabriel Benito
Design and exterior decoration of the device DR CREA
Graphic art Goyo Rodríguez / GRCREATIVE
Produced in collaboration with the Castilla and León Parish Council and Burgos Town Council.
ARAWAKE was founded in 2014 and received the 1st Cultural Innovation Award from Fórum de Cultura in the same year.
Implementing new technologies for the performing arts is part of its DNA as a company. Multidisciplinary training, curiosity and research have led to the development of innovative devices that inevitably generate unconventional plays.
