The customary talk on puppet theatre included in the 16th Montemor-o-Novo International Puppet Festival (EIMMN), on 25 and 31 May, brings together artists, the public and researchers of puppet theatre.
This year’s topic of discussion, ‘Puppet Theatre: the Street and the Room’, seeks to encourage reflection on the current contours of this form of theatre, taking into account the specificity of the practices adopted by artists and companies, and the place of the puppet in contemporary theatre and cultural life.
The sessions are intended to be an open space for discussion. The artists will explain their artistic and aesthetic choices, which are embodied in the performances presented at the Festival. The researchers, in dialogue with the artists, will moderate interventions by the audience, the main addressee of these talks.
