Itinerant Library

Aletria is a library van with a careful collection of books of various interests and literary genres, and a regular programme of workshops, readings and debates.
Becoming an open-air kiosk, Aletria is a relaxed, urban and informal space for socialising, art and culture, designed for all ages and which can be found in a town square, garden, school or neighbourhood.

Itinerant Library + Artistic Workshops

27 + 28 May | All day
Escola EB 2/3

What kind of heads do books have?

Using scrap paper and cardboard, we’ll create three-dimensional books. In this creative workshop, we’ll explore the visual design of the object and create exuberant characters to inhabit it.

Poisa Poetry

A poetry reading accompanied by guitar, featuring some of the poems that have left their mark on the lives of Aletria’s librarians.

Diaries

Taking the diaries of writers and artists from throughout history as our inspiration, we will create a personal notebook. In this workshop, we aim to reflect on the importance of memory and how keeping notebooks and personal diaries helps us to record the events of the day, reflect on the world around us, and clarify and deepen our states of mind.

Notebooks for Repair

A workshop exploring drawing and writing skills, encouraging us to look closely at and pay attention to the landscapes, buildings and objects around us. Repairing is synonymous with engaging with the urban environment in an attentive way, but it is also a way of mending our relationship with the city. These beautiful pocket notebooks will fill with lines and colours, with the various impressions and ideas that were hidden within things.
