MISS TAPE, the musical alter-ego of artist Ana Almeida Pinto (Porto, 1984), explores rhythms that lower her center of gravity and make her hips sway. Based mostly on contributions from female artists and musicians, MISS TAPE’s sets blend universes within hip-hop, trap, techno, and electronic music, among other unlikely
combinations. The journey takes place between the future of the past and the listening experience of the present, a sonic expedition that collects all latitudes and promises to make you sweat.
Ana Almeida Pinto is a visual artist born in Porto in 1984.
A multidisciplinary artist, she seeks to explore and reflect on human motivation, nostalgia as a driving force behind the creative process, and the relationship between will and power. She adapts the physicality and symbolism of the materials she works with and uses the narrative of the construction process to give meaning to the concepts she develops. She has exhibited regularly since 2007 and is fortunate to have five of her sculptures installed in public spaces. She works in theatre, set design and props, and runs workshops for children and adults centred on the worlds of visual arts, theatre and literature.
